10/28- literary analysis: the single story- “postcards from columbus” and “how to date a brown girl”
11/2- lecture on annotated bibliography, assignment due 11/9/21. lecture on argumentative essay. homework- due by 11/4 8pm, post a paragraph on the topic you wish to explore/argue and how you will answer the project’s overall question. Read: NFG ch 11,15, 47, 49
11/4- discussion- beginning and ending. homework- write intro paragraph minus thesis and conclusion. comment on 3 students’ posts. due mon 11/8 by 8pm. read NFG- 13, 35, 36, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54
11/9- bibliographies are due. review beginning/ending. move towards building/identifying thesis statements. homework: write thesis statement for essay, post on BB, comment on 3 student posts. read: all documents on this page- http://www.nonresistance.org/exco2010/Birmingham_Jail.pdf
11/11- in class workshop on thesis statements. **possibly discuss building body paragraphs and review of in text citations. homework: genre analysis of argumentative essay.
11/16- building body paragraphs, review of in text citations, and powerpoint genre. homework: compose drafts for peer review. Read NFG 56, 57, 58, 60.
11/18- peer review. homework: final projects due 11/22, 11:59. presentations on 11/23
11/23- presentations!
